Abstract
Qiongzhong County in Hainan was taken as the typical area to explore the distribution of nutrients and pH in tropical arable land soils. The research techniques of field research and lab analysis were applied for comprehensive research into the distribution of soil pH, organic matters and available nutrients (N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Zn) contents in arable land of study area. The results indicated that, the sampled arable land soils are more acid, with pH 4.50.5. The contents of organic matters and available N were sufficient, however, the available P and K were deficient, and the contents of them were 7.4 and 39.7 mg/kg, respectively. The contents of available Ca and Mg in arable land were 508.9 and 82.8 mg/kg, respectively, and these two elements were deficient. The content of available Zn was as high as 4.72 mg/kg. High acidity degrees in soils may result in Zn pollution and, therefore, it shall be noted that excessive accumulation may be threatened to physical health.
