New Urbanization and Water Ecological Civilization: Interaction Mechanism and Coupling Coordination

  • New-type urbanization is closely related to the construction of water ecological civilization, and mutually promotes and restricts each other. The article uses the panel data of 30 provinces from 2009 to 2018 to construct a new urbanization and water ecological civilization evaluation index system, uses the entropy method to determine the weight composite comprehensive score, and then uses the coupling coordination degree model and Granger causality test to compare study and judge the interactive relationship between them. The results show that during the investigation period, the coupling coordination degree of new urbanization and water ecological civilization in most provinces and cities was in a barely coordinated and primary coordinated state, at a medium coupling coordination level; the overall trend was increasing and the gap between provinces was gradually narrowing; In terms of distribution, the eastern region is higher than the central and western regions. Among them, Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin and other places in the eastern region have achieved a high-level coupling of new urbanization and water ecological civilization, while Henan, Anhui, Hunan and other places in the central region are still relatively great room for improvement.
