Abstract: Based on the theory of tourism background trend line,the paper analyzed the data of 15 years border tourism inbound day trips in Yunnan, and set up tourismbackground trend lines of Yunnan province and three typical state. The results show that: (1) development of border tourism is affected by major events produced significantfluctuations forming the concave valley and convex peak in the background line; (2) The impact of major events on the border tourism is both negative and also positive,both local and overall,and has a long or short duration; (3) Because the market is different, the Yunnan border tourism development is not balanced;(4)The national policy affectthe operation of border tourism clearly. According to advantages of the Yunnan border tourism,at the same time, the paper gave some specific recommendations.
