Abstract: Farming culture is the achievement in the practice of agricultural production and also an important motivation of the formation of agricultural production and lifestyles. Combining with the actual condition of Yunnan province, basing on the correlation and adaptability between the traditional farming culture and the agriculture modernization，this article discusses the development countermeasures of Yunnan plateau featured agriculture: first, using the three powers theory of the traditional farming culture for reference to find the path to the plateau featured agriculture；second，promoting the diversity of the development mode based on the characteristics of farming culture in Yunnan province；third, breaking through the bottlenecks of land constraints to create threedimensional agriculture form；and at last, formulating the policy of plateau featured agriculture in accordance with the principle of the land suitability.
