Abstract: Word shape characteristics of flower word inChinese and English are summarized and compared. Basing on the synchronic plane, description, classification, comparison methods are used to sum up the same traits of Chinese and English flower word：the domination of polysyllabic and compound words, the consistency in meaning of morpheme. Meanwhile, thedifference of flower word in Chinese and English are explored in syllable, morpheme, structure, and form. In view of the consistency of semantics, thetransformation of flower word in Chinese and English are discussed from the perspective of translation.
