Abstract:
Based on David Ausubel's cognitive assimilation and theconstructivist theories, David Novak developed the research on concept mapping technique at Cornell University. Concept mapping is an active cognition of knowledge. In language teaching, concept map is helpful to reading comprehension, creative writing and assessment of student's learning effectiveness. Theconnection between concept mapping and language teaching make it possible for us to take advantage of concept mapping to improve student's readingcomprehension and creative writing. It can also be helpful for teacher to assess student's understanding.
