Abstract: The Greater Mekong Subregion Economic Cooperation Zone (GMS)is the subregional economic cooperation zone in ChinaASEAN Free Trade Area. Studying the theory and the practice of Yunnan facing GMS going outstrategy is of great help for Yunnan higher education to gain leaping development and is of vital practical significance to raise Yunnan higher education'sinternationalization level. To implement going out strategy better, Yunnan Province should establish and consummate the related policies and regulationsenvironment, should carry out flexible transnational education and the scientific research cooperation, and should deepen educational reform, developsuperiority and enhance its own competitive power.
