Abstract:
This paper, by analyzing the current situationof the teaching of translation in colleges, indicates that one of the reasons why college students are lack of translation competence is that they have nosystemic knowledge of differences and similarities between English and Chinese. The paper proposes an introduction of basic C-E contrastive theories intocollege English teaching in order to improve students concepts and transformation ability in translation, and discusses some new translation teachingmethods used in college English teaching.
