Abstract:
Semester, an element of the university teaching administration system, plays an important role in the teaching arrangement at the higher institutions. Some lessons and experiences have been gained through the university semester reforms in China. Based on the review of trisemester reforms conducted by other universities, the study indicates it is feasible for agricultural universities to implement curriculum reform, facilitates practical skill knowledge, and perfects credit system in tri-semester setting. Considering the features of disciplines, teaching resources, and practical skill training at agricultural universities, the paper further discusses three questions that agricultural university administrators should consider while carrying out the tri-semester reform.
