Abstract:
With a keen intercultural awareness, Maxine Hong Kingston has constructed a new cultural order in her texts, exhibited the dialogue and negotiation between the eastern and western culture, and explored the area where they interact. By doing so, she conveys her concept of “cultural analog” that though all culture belongs to different roots, they frame similarly in their own system. However, her intercultural writing has frequently been confronted by misreading. To correct this misreading, an interculturality perspective is needed to analyze her texts.
