Abstract: Based on the theory of meta-cognition of reading, this paper carries out an initiative reading teaching style which emphasizes students,self-access under teachers, guidance, which is different from traditional passive teaching model focusing on instruction. The empirical study aims at confirming the new teaching style is better through results of reading speed and competence, surveys from subjectgroups under the new and traditional teaching style respectively.
