Abstract: Animal breeding is one of the important special courses of the animal science major in agricultural universities. In the teaching practice， around the aim of cultivating of high-quality and applied talents， a series of reforms were carried out on teaching methods and means， optimizing of the contents of course， and practice teaching， etc， which based on the basic constructions of course and teaching group. The practice showed that it played an important role in stimulating the students’ study interest， cultivating the students’ study ability and increasing the teaching effects.
