Textual Research on the Cause Plant American Cotton Instead of Kapok in Modern Yunnan

  • 摘要: 云南自古有木棉生长。民国初年，云南为堵塞禁烟漏巵引种美棉，为云南植棉业、纺织业奠定基础。抗战时期，云南当局重新拟定发展计划改植木棉另谋出路。其中缘由，值得关注。

     

    Abstract: Kapok has existed since ancient times in Yunnan. In the Early Republic of China, Yunnan introduced American cotton for incurring finance deficits to opium banning, which establishes the base for cotton planting industry and cotton textile industry of Yunnan. During the AntiJapanese War, a new development plan of replanting Kapok was studied out by the Yunnan government, which has aroused our attention.
