On the Relevance of Metaphorical Competence andVocabulary Acquisition

  • 摘要: 隐喻是人类理解与把握世界的认知方式。隐喻能力的熟练掌握是学习者学习词汇的重要标志。隐喻能力与词汇习得彼此之间是相互制约、相互促进的。隐喻能力越强,词汇的习得就越容易;反之,词汇的习得就越困难。

     

    Abstract: Metaphor is persuasive in everyday life, not just in language, but in thought and action. The skillful master of metaphorical competence is an important mark of learner,s acquisition of second language vocabulary. In a sense, metaphorical competence is mutually related to vocabulary acquisition. The stronger metaphorical competence, the easier vocabulary acquisition is.
