Abstract:
Through the discussion with Jiang Nan, author of A Tentative Study of TCM Dietetic Therapy Translation, this article focuses on the “rhyme” in dietetic therapy knack translation. Through comparative study of original translation and the re-doing, the present writer puts the negative point of view on unrhymed literal translation, and believes that if one puts a lot practices into it, studies hard and learns open-mindedly from famous scholars, the translation of TCM dietetic therapy knack, whose equivalency can not be found in the English proverbs is still achievable. Furthermore, with the rhymed output the same effect as the original can be obtained on the basis of reaching the “faithfulness”, the beautiful sound being heard, and equivalent style being seen.
