Abstract: Reading is an important part of college English. But there exists many obstacles that hinder the development of college students' reading abilities. This article, by analyzing the understanding of the reading process, the mastering of words and the accumulation of schemes, offers some strategies aiming at the improvement of college English reading teaching.
