Abstract:
Cities are not only the location of substances' distributing and combination, but also a congeries of productivity, producing relation and superstructure in an area, including intricate political and economic relations. Urbanism, i.e. a city's attribute or a city's own living mode, revealed the city's complicated form and characters profoundly. Marx and Engels exerted the materialistic historical view to make a nice analysis; they thought the centralizing of population and other social factors were the most essential and uppermost external characteristic of urban development; modern capitalist producing manner invited European industrial cities, gave birth to modern working class, class battle needed to utilize different policies depending on urban development; capitalizing was the internal force of cities' development, exploring to constitute a new structure of urban and rural areas was needed.
