Abstract: Recreation at farmers' houses is a new pattern of ecological tourism on the basis of farmers' homestead, which has become a new way for farmers to increase their income, to readjust the industrial structure of agriculture, and to promote the integration of urban and rural development. As a pioneer in Yunnan Province to develop recreation at farmers' houses, Kunming is faced with some considerable problems in such economic development. Having stated the economic potential and significance of recreation at farmers' houses, this paper initiates an ideological model to further develop such an economy.
