Abstract: Martin Luther King, the black American leader for freedom and equality made a speech I Have a Dream on August 28th, 1963. In his speech, he expressed a vision of non-violence, civil liberty and equality. In addition to the time and the background in which King lived, the reason why this speech is capable of inspiring people mostly depends on using rhetorical devices. This article mainly analyses how this speech influenced people deeply by using repetition.
