独立学院非英语专业新生英语学习动机相关因素实证分析

An Empirical Analysis of English Learning Motivation for Non-English Majors' Freshmen in Independent College

  • 摘要: 运用问卷调查的方法探讨了独立学院非英语专业新生英语学习动机类型、动机强度及相关因素之间的关系。调查数据来自独立学院192名非英语专业新生。结果表明,独立学院非英语专业新生的英语学习动机成绩处于首位,中低动机强度的学生占绝大多数。成绩、学习情境、内在兴趣、信息媒介四种动机类型对学习努力程度产生影响。动机强度中低组的学生,成绩、信息媒介动机越高,学习努力程度越低。高考成绩对新生的英语学习努力程度无直接影响。

     

    Abstract: This paper aimed to investigate English learning motivation types, motivational intensity, self-confidence and relationship among them for non-English majors freshmen in independent college by questionnaire method. The subjects were from 192 non-English-major independent college freshmen.The statistical findings indicated students' achievement motivation was in the first place. Four types of motivation such as achievement, situational, intrisic interesting and information media have significant effect on student's motivational intensity. For the students in group medium and low in motivational intensity, students with higher achievement and information media motivation made less learning effort. College entrance exam results were not directly related to their effort in English learning.
