海峡两岸高校ESP合作教学可行性研究

Feasibility Research on Cross-strait ESP Cooperative Teaching

  • 摘要: 英语作为一门世界通用的语言,如今已成为一个国家战略性优势之一。在经济全球化环境中,职场需求日趋专业化,人才竞争愈加激烈。在这样的背景下,传统的以EGP(通用英语)为主的大学英语教育往往沦为没有目标导向的教学。因此,高校切入ESP(专门用途英语)教学必然是大势所趋。在我国大陆的ESP教学起步较晚,目前还处于摸索阶段。相对来说,台湾的ESP教学与职业能力提高相结合,具有较强的实用性。近年来,两岸三地对于大学教育教学的交流合作愈来愈密切,为海峡两岸高校ESP合作教学提供了良好的基础。海峡两岸高校ESP教学合作可围绕以下三点展开:(1)增强两岸ESP理论的学术交流;(2)共享两岸优质ESP教学资源;(3)共同建设两岸ESP实训基地。

     

    Abstract: As a worldwide used language, English has become one of a country's strategic advantages. In today's global economy, specialization is in great demand in today's job market and the competition of talent is drastic increasingly. In these circumstances,traditional college English education which emphasized EGP (English for General Purpose) lacked goal orientation. Therefore, the trend of ESP (English for Specific Purpose) teaching in universities is irreversible. Compared with the late and slow development of ESP teaching in China mainland, ESP teaching in Taiwan is more practical when integrating with the improvement of vocational ability. In recent years, there have been increasingly frequent exchanges and cooperation for university education among the three places, which provided the foundation for Cross-strait ESP Cooperative Teaching. The cooperation can be conducted around the following aspects:(1) To strengthen cross-strait exchanges for ESP theory.(2) To share resources of ESP teaching.(3) To co-construct practical training bases.
