A Study on Conducting Translation Workshop in Teaching English Translation

  • 摘要: 师资力量薄弱、教学模式单一、课程设置滞后、教材单一是目前国内翻译教学存在的主要问题。翻译工作坊整合运用当下多种新颖的教学方法及理念,强调以学生为中心,注重过程,使学生在操练中学习翻译、在合作中学习翻译、在讨论中学习翻译,通过大量翻译实践、小组讨论、课堂呈现、修改完善等步骤和途径,有效消除传统翻译教学弊端,使师生受益,最终不断提高翻译能力和译者能力。这一模式具有较强的可行性,能为当前翻译教学改革提供一定借鉴意义,值得在教学实际中予以尝试推广。

     

    Abstract: Shortage of trained teachers, monotonousness of teaching method, lag of course setting and monotonousness of teaching material are the major problems in current translation teaching. Translation workshop integrates many current teaching pedagogies and concepts, which emphasizes on participants-oriented, learning process-focused and facilitates participants learn translation from practicing, collaborating and discussing. Ways of plenty of translation practice, group discussion, classroom presentation, revision and improvement can effectively eliminating drawbacks of traditional translation teaching. Besides, both teachers and students can benefit from it, and eventually it can achieve the aim of promoting translator's translation competence. Therefore translation workshop is feasible, which can provide some references for the reform of present translation teaching and can be promoted and popularized.
