Abstract: As a architectural space,the workers' cultural palace constantly engaged in the representation of significance. Changing with the social and historical background, the Kunming workers' culture palace presents different political, economic and social significance. The political significance from symbol to exhibition shows that the demolition has changed the spiritual relationship between architecture and human. The economic significance from market to capital shows that the architecture space meets embarrassment in the market and demolition torrent. The social significance from at home to homeless shows that the modernity brings the change of social structure and people face the survival crisis. The coexistence and interleaving of different significance represented by city architectural space at different times illustrates the complex pattern of changing times and ideology in china.
