Abstract: How to build a new college English teaching mode with Chinese characteristics suiting the national present conditions has become the vital challenges for current college English teaching reform. With the analysis of various factors that hinder and restrain the reform of CET traditional teaching mode, this article boldly explores the diversification of its reforms and points out that specialty and practicability are two striking features of college English emphasized in its teaching mode, which mean that language should go along with students' professions and that knowledge needs to associate with capability equally.
