Abstract: In order to evaluate the creative capacity in science in Yunnan Agricultural University, the quantitative analysis was conducted on public applications for the patents of service invention and non-service invention. The paper described that the distributions of the numbers, types, years, areas of technique, and departments of patents conferred based on the database of SooPAT Chinese patent search engine from 1985, the year when patent law was in practice to the date when the search was finished.
