Abstract: China is one of the world's major sugar production and consumption country, the development of sugar industry not only directly affects the income and life of tens of millions of farmers, but also relates to the national sugar supply security. In recent years, the development of China's sugar industry is much better, but also faces many deep-seated problems, for example, the poor infrastructure of the sugar field, the unitary sugar breed, the rising planting and production costs, the failure government sugar reserve system, etc. Responding to these problems,this paper points out several corresponding policy recommendations: strengthening the infrastructure construction of the sugar field, increasing sugar breed research and development efforts and enhancing the popularity of research achievements, strengthening monitoring and warning efforts of sugar production and international sugar market, rolling out the policy-oriented sugar insurance, etc.
