农业科技篇章翻译中逻辑连贯重构

Reconstruction of Textual Logic Relation in the Translation of Agricultural Scientific and Technological Texts

  • 摘要: 篇章的语义关系必须建立在逻辑关系的基础上,并由某种逻辑结构显现出来,因此篇章的逻辑性是翻译中的重要内容。与其他文本相比,农业科技文本在篇章结构和文章逻辑方面都有着更高的要求。因此,本文根据英汉两种语言的特点,探究农科英汉和汉英翻译过程中如何进行逻辑连贯重构,从而使译文符合目的语的表达习惯。具体提出了以下逻辑重构的几种方法:“形合”和“意合”语言句法结构的转换;文本内容的拆分与重组;语言单位的推移;衔接词的灵活使用;增词和减词等。通过重构,可以使译文行文脉络清晰、主次有序、层次分明,从而达到与原文等效的效果,使译文信息的准确性和传递性都得以实现。本研究期望能为农业科技篇章翻译提供一定的参考价值。

     

    Abstract: The semantic relationship of a text is established on the basis of the logical relation of a text and expressed with some logical structures, so textual logic should be given priority when doing translation. Compared with the other texts, an agricultural scientific and technological text has higher requirements on textual logical relation. Therefore, this paper, according to the linguistic features of Chinese and English, explores the ways to reconstruct the logical relation of a text when doing translation. Several ways were put forward: converting the syntactic structure between the “hypotactic” and “paratactic” languages; splitting and reorganizing the texts; changing linguistic units; using appropriate cohesive devices; and adding or omitting words. After reconstruction, the information of the target text could be logically, orderly and smoothly conveyed, thus achieving the equivalence of the target text to the source text and realizing the accuracy and transitivity of the information. This research might to be helpful for the translators when translating agricultural scientific and technological texts.
