Abstract:
This article provides a contrastive analysis on the two popular textbooks:Understanding Second Language Acquisition written by Rod Ellis,and How Languages Are Learned by P.M.Lightbown N.Spada.The purpose is to explore important SLA research findings and major theoretical views from both books.A Particular analytical study is made on the differences and from four different perspectives,research content,research methods,theoretical explanation,Readers perspective.Finally,limitations and implications are raised for further reading and research in SLA.
