Abstract: The villager autonomy system is a great practice at the grassroots level in China’ s democratic system construction. The rural revitalization strategy proposed in the report of the 19^th National Congress of the Communist Party of China provides new historical opportunities and development space for villager autonomy. In the new economic situation, how should villager autonomy grasp the opportunity of this important period of strategic to achieve development and breakthroughs in the context of rural revitalization? The article attempts to summarize villager autonomy into four forms of realization from the two dimensions of resources and power. By analyzing the new opportunities and new requirements brought by the strategy of rural revitalization to different forms of villager autonomy, the article proposes the new breakthroughs that villager autonomy needs to realize in the context of rural revitalization: to avoid the disadvantages of projects eliminating autonomy, and improve the system of village autonomy; to guard against the dislocation of the main body of the village governance legal person, and establish the status of village democracy; to prevent the lack of supervision of the use of collective resources, and build a supervision-guaranteed system.
