Abstract:
It is an inevitable requirement for the development of both the city and the society to the promotion over the integration of migrant workers into the city. While the decision of migrant workers whether to stay in the city or not is greatly influenced by their sense of belonging to the city. The main problem that was studied in this paper was the impact of the satisfaction over the public services on migrant workers’ sense of belonging to city as well as its gender differences. Also, the data from the survey over the migrant workers’ employment and inclusion into the city in Fujian Province was adopted in this paper, and the ordinal logistic regression model was adopted for the analysis in this paper. The main conclusions drawn from this paper were listed as follows: People’ s satisfaction with medical services, employment services and housing security has a significant positive impact on their sense of belonging to the city; People’ s satisfaction on children’ s education has non-significant negative impact on their sense of belonging to the city; Male migrant workers’ satisfaction on medical service and employment service has a significant positive impact on their sense of belonging to the city; And also female migrant workers’ satisfaction on employment service and housing security has a significant positive impact on their sense of belonging to the city.
