Abstract:
This paper uses sample data from 219 tea farmers surveyed in three counties and cities in Zhejiang Province, and an empirical analysis of the influencing factors of tea farmers’ willingness to expand planting scale using the binary logit model. The results show that, Householder’ s age and education level, tea plantation area, tea planting years, the input cost of machinery and equipment, the technical training, and the wages of employees have a significant impact on farmers’ willingness to expand planting scale; At the level of primary and secondary schools, the years of tea planting are concentrated in 10~19 years, the investment in machinery and equipment is also low, and the gap in the number of technical trainings received is quite large. Based on the above empirical analysis results, the article finally puts forward policy suggestions to encourage young and middle-aged people to engage in tea production, improve the mechanization of farmers’ tea planting production, and establish a more complete social service system-especially tea farmers’ technical training to guide farmers to expand the scale of planting.
