Abstract:
To investigate the welfare consciousness of experimental animals of the students majoring in animals in agricultural colleges and universities, advocate the relevant experimental teachers to integrate the knowledge of animal welfare and ethics into the teaching, and cultivate the humanistic care spirit of the students. A questionnaire was designed to investigate the understanding of welfare ethics of experimental animals among students majoring in animals in Yunnan Agricultural University. The results show that the students ’awareness of the concept of animal welfare ethics, the “3R” principle of animal experiments, and the laws and regulations related to experimental animals are all low; compared with the freshmen, the senior students who have received the relevant animal experiments have a little knowledge reserve in the aspect of experimental animal welfare ethics. It is necessary for teachers to strengthen the education of experimental animal welfare and cultivate students’ humanistic quality in the future experimental teaching.
