Abstract:
The social structure of the Nuosu branch of the Yi people has its unique side. The family branch and the stratum are the right way to understand the Nuosu society. The family stories written by two college students of Nuosu born after 1995 vividly shows how the descendants of different classes recognize their ethnic identity and class identity. It is the same ethnic group, but the inheritance of family memory shows distinct class differences and gender differences. The family memory of Qunuo class relies on the inheritance of generations. Boys receive the traditional family education from childhood and have a strong sense of belonging to the ethnic group and stratum identity. In contrast, due to their ancestors experienced the unusual historical events, the slave’ s family memory has a clear sense of split, and the ethnic identity is more variable.
