Abstract:
The construction of New Liberal Arts emphasizes its features of interdisciplinary integration, openness and inclusiveness, and technological humanism. College English reforms, which might be observed in different aspects, should put its emphasis on alignment awareness in the context of New Liberal Arts. For a more specific observation, College English reforms should align with its initial intention, demands of national foreign language ability, interdisciplinary development, other industries in society, domestic and overseas academic communities, and the individual needs of students. These six aspects of alignment might present a new developmental insight for College English reform in the new era. This thesis might offer the reference value for the promotion of the understanding of disciplinary attribution of New Liberal Arts and the course reform of College English.
