Abstract: On the basis of studying and analyzing the practices and successful experiences of the overseas and domestic agricultural universities in promoting agricultural modernization, this paper investigates the local agricultural and forestry universities' experiences and practices through field investigation and questionnaire, so that to better understand the current situation, practices, achievements as well as the experience and enlightenment of Chinese local agricultural and forestry universities in promoting agricultural modernization. The results show that:policy support, talents training, scientific research, social services, school-land-enterprise cooperation, technical guidance and training are key factors affecting the promotion of agricultural modernization in local agricultural and forestry colleges and universities. This paper also concludes the experience and inspiration of local agricultural and forestry universities to promote agricultural modernization. In view of the existing problems, the paper puts forward some suggestions to promote the process of agricultural modernization, which has important reference value and guiding role in promoting agricultural production, farmers' prosperity and rural prosperity.
