Abstract: Rural memory does not pass away with the change of space. Through its tangible or intangible cultural forms, the memory of the rural links its memory image to the practical situations of the peasants who leave home and shapes the way of their thinking and values. It plays an important role in the urban life of the migrant peasants. This paper analyzes the role of rural memory in the process of urbanization, in order to help reconstruct the space of rural memory in the city. It is helpful to further understand the significance of rural memory to the peasants who leave the countryside and to the construction of a harmonious society.
