Abstract:
Environmental statistics is a very important basic course for the major of environmental science. In order to improve the teaching quality of teachers and students' learning efficiency, in this paper, through questionnaires from 187 students of environmental science, the students' attitude of learning, answering questions, doing homework, teaching content and teaching methods were investigated. Statistical analysis of the survey results showed that there were dependence type, hard study type and communication type of learning attitudes of students for environmental statistics. In face of the teachers' class questions, 70% of the students could think positively, but only 19% students were willing to answer the questions actively. Meanwhile, about 81% students completed homework through discussion with teachers and classmates. At the same time, 91% students thought that there were strong coherence between the chapters, and absent would impact subsequent learning. Moreover 36% students used to the teacher centered classroom, but 32% students were willing to participate in classroom teaching. In view of this situation, it was suggested that we should transform students' learning attitude through education, and improve students' participation in class, also encourage students to finish their homework independently, at the same time the teachers should make teaching content easier, and take a variety of teaching methods to meet different needs of students.
