Abstract: Food security is an important indicator of a country's economic security. In order to ensure its food security, the Lao government has adopted a series of measures to increase grain production, but because Laos transportation infrastructure, science and technology of agricultural and grain reserves are very backward, Lao food serious loss in the process of production storage processing. On the other hand, as the population of Laos and international tourists traveling to Laos increase, the consumption of food, meat and fish products is also increasing, So the food security problem in Laos remains serious. This paper analyzes the present situation and existing problems of food security in the Lao, from the three aspects of Lao food production, food supply and consumption security, and introduces the related agricultural development policies. It has important reference value and practical significance for studying food security in Laos and carrying out agricultural cooperation with Laos.
