Abstract:
In order to explore the relationship between college students' materialism and the global well-being, 380 college students from three universities in Anhui Province were tested with Material Values Scale, Mutiple Happiness Questionnaire and Spiritual Well-Being Scale. The main research results were:(1) College students' materialism was highly negative correlated with the global well-being, in other words, the higher score of materialism, the lower score of the global well-being. Generally speaking, college students' materialism was not significantly negative correlated with the subjective well-being, however, it was significantly negative correlated with the psychological well-being and the spiritual well-being. (2) Materialism can predict the global well-being, the psychological well-being and the spiritual well-being negatively, it can't predict subjective well-being.
