Abstract:
A deep understanding of the current application of MOOCs teaching at newly established local undergraduate colleges is a prerequisite for them to be implemented effectively. Based on a detailed account of how MOOCs are being carried out, this paper analyzes the reasons why these colleges are resistant to MOOCs in regard to their attitudes toward MOOCs, the differences between high-quality MOOCs and the colleges' needs for talent cultivation, the Low completion rate of MOOCs as well as the acceptability of MOOCs among students. Considering faculty deficiency, poor quality of the courses, rigid classroom teaching methods and homogeneity of the talent cultivation, the implementation of MOOCs teaching is justified though. Accordingly, some specific suggestions are provided concerning the notion, policy, training and construction mode of MOOCs for newly established local undergraduate colleges.
