Abstract:
This paper centers on the translation of a special type of Chinese sentences which sound grand and splendid and yet violate the superficial logic, and whose translation defy the translation theories based on decoding-encoding model. And then this paper examines the translation theories in the 20th century, and discovers that their translation theories are actually affected in a large degree by the fact that what they do were translating into Chinese instead of out of Chinese, and therefore subject to the influences of the classical literary theories of China. Based on the cognitive schema of imagery thinking proposed by Professor BaoTongfa, this paper tentatively establishes a new translation model that includes the research of the facts, the referent, as the basis, holding that in translating out of Chinese, the aim is based on reason and enhanced with poetry.
