Abstract:
Through the observation and analysis of an uxorilocal marriage within the village C, we pay attention to research the marriage freedom of rural young famale group. Studies have shown that some young females with economic independence are doomed to the fate of involuntary marriage due to their family structure and influence of traditional customs. Meanwhile, family factors and construction policy of new village in China have made some rural young men become live-in sons-in-law. The conclusion is that uxorilocal custom is likely to continue in some rural areas disregarding the persuit of marriage freedom from rural young people especially in famale case, which deserves our more attention in rural studies.
