Abstract: In recent years, red dates industry ushered in an unprecedented development opportunity. As one of the eight famous Shanxi dates, the development of the Baode red dates industry, not only related to the farmers' income, but related to the economic and social development in Baode. Based on a diamond model theory, in this study, the core competence of red dates industry development of Baode was comprehensively analyzed through six different aspects below, including production factors, demand conditions, related and supporting industries, enterprise competition and strategy, government and opportunity. And in order to provide reference for better and faster development of Baode red dates industry, it put forward some new countermeasures to promote the development of Baode red dates industry based on the local real situation.
