英语专业与非英语专业学生英语议论文语类对比分析研究

摘要: 本文报告了对英语专业与非英语专业学生200篇英语议论文的语类对比分析结果, 旨在发现英语专业与非英语专业学生英语议论文的语步结构、语言特征及其相似与不同之处。用于语料分析的200篇作文中, 100篇来自于英语专业学生, 另外100篇来自非英语专业学生。采用Hyland (1990) 英语议论文分析框架对这200篇议论文进行语步结构分析。研究结果显示大部分学生的议论文都符合所选分析框架的三个步骤, 分析结果也显示英语专业学生与非英语专业学生的议论文在使用语步数量上存在差异, 而且新语步只存在于非英语专业学生语料库中。Abstract: The paper reports on a comparative genre analysis of English argumentative essays by English majors and non-English majors.The study aims to identify the move-step structure and linguistic features of argumentative essays by the two groups of students, and finds out the similarities and differences in these two aspects.Of two sets of corpus built, each consists of 100 argumentative essays written by English majors and non-English majors respectively.Hyland's (1990) model is adopted as analytical framework to analyze the essays.The results show that the majority of students follow the three stages of the selected model.The findings also reveal that differences still exist between the two corpora in terms of the amount of the used moves, and the new move only occurs in non-English majors' corpus.
