Abstract: In order to understand the status of the life quality of empty-nester elderly in yunnan city, this paper constructs the evaluation index system of life quality of urban empty-nesters elderly with the method of expert investigation and proportional distribution, on this basis, this paper designes the questionnaire about life quality of urban empty-nest elderly in yunnan, then investigates 509 empty-nest elderly from the typical cites in Yunnan, such as Kunming, Honghe, Lijiang and Dehong. The result shows that the average life quality of Yunnan empty-nest elderly is in a poor condition, especially in the cultural and recreational activity, medical condition of residence, living environment, social conditions and physical status. Through the research, we suggest the management organizations take effective measures to increase input, improve the life condition and develop community endowment, so as to improve the life quality of empty-nest elderly
