Abstract: Philanthropy is a special kind of moral practice in essence, which is closely related to cultural awareness of society and individuals. In modern social community of high degree of division of labor, philanthropy is an indispensable coordination mechanism of the division of labor, and is an important running agents of balance of social development. In a transition period of Chinese society, market economy leads to excessive materialistic society, cultural values scattered, cultural mentality misunderstanding of extreme and confrontation are produced. Aiming at these problems, this paper puts forward that it conducts a counter-force correction for negative development to make philanthropy get benign development, under the background of rapid development of material factors. At the same time, it makes the development of philanthropy become an important element of diversified social assistance system, so as to promote the harmonious development of society.
