Abstract:
Investigating the correlation among the agglomeration of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fisheries (AFAHF) and its service and industries in Gansu Province will promote the optimization and upgrading of industrial structures, as well as foster the deep integration of primary, secondary, and tertiary industries in rural areas, and promote the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas. Based on the statistical data of the total output value of AFAHF and its service industry in Gansu Province from 2012 to 2023, the market agglomeration and spatial agglomeration degree of AFAHF and its service industry in Gansu Province were measured by the H Index and EG Index during 2012-2023. The correlation of the agricultural industrial agglomeration was analyzed in combination with the development trend of the agricultural industry. The results showed that AFAHF and its service industry in Gansu Province had different degrees of market agglomeration and spatial agglomeration during the research period. Among them, the market agglomeration and spatial agglomeration levels of the agricultural-forestry-animal husbandry-fishery service industry were the highest, indicating a stronger tendency toward agglomeration and regional specialization. In contrast, the market and spatial agglomeration levels of the primary sectors AFAHF were relatively lower. There was non-correlation of market agglomeration and spatial agglomeration between the AFAHF and its services in support of agriculture during 2012-2016, forestry-animal husbandry-fishery in Gansu Province. The correlation began to emerge, however, the correlation of market agglomeration was not obvious, while the correlation of spatial agglomeration between agriculture and the AFAHF services was relatively obvious during 2017-2023.
