Abstract: The 2024 Central No. 1 Document proposed the strategy of “promoting agriculture through industry, quality, and green development” , providing policy guidance for rural industrial development. The status of ecological protection and economic development in the development strategy is becoming increasingly important. Developing resource economy has become one of the paths to resolve the contradiction between ecological protection and economic development. Weixi County in Yunnan is both an area rich in ecological resources and a region with fragile ecology. In the process of poverty alleviation and implementing rural revitalization, the county has leveraged its geographical characteristics of high-altitude areas, vigorously promoting the cultivation of cold-resistant Chinese medicinal materials such as Aconitum kusnezoffii, turning disadvantages into advantages and promoting the transformation and upgrading of local industries. This paper analyzed the ways in which Weixi County used the resource economy to promote agricultural industrial development and the economic performance indicators, and put forward suggestions on how to use the resource economy to promote agricultural industrial development.
