Abstract: Accelerating the construction of digital rural areas is a strategic key to effectively promoting rural revitalization and an important factor in the modernization process of agriculture and rural areas. This paper selected the relevant data of 30 provinces in China from 2011 to 2021 to build an evaluation index system, used the entropy method to measure the comprehensive index of digital rural construction and rural revitalization, and selected the fixed effect model and intermediary effect model to test the mechanism effect of digital rural construction on rural revitalization. Research had found that, digital rural construction had a significant promoting effect on rural revitalization and could indirectly promote rural revitalization by stimulating rural innovation and entrepreneurship vitality. The construction of digital rural areas had a significant promoting effect on rural revitalization in the eastern region, while it was not obvious in the central and western regions. The digitalization of agriculture in the construction of digital rural areas had a significant promoting effect on rural revitalization, but the role of rural digital infrastructure and digitalization of farmers’ lives was not obvious. Based on this, it was proposed to strengthen the construction of digital rural infrastructure, stimulate the innovation vitality of the digital rural industry, strengthen the supply of diversified elements in digital rural areas, coordinate the digital development of various regions, and accelerate the construction of the entire agricultural digital industry chain.
