Abstract: Accelerating the construction of digital rural areas is a strategic key to effectively promoting rural revitalization and an important factor in the modernization process of agriculture and rural areas. This paper selects the relevant data of 30 provinces (except Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Xizang) in China from 2011 to 2021 to build an evaluation index system, uses the entropy method to measure the comprehensive index of digital rural construction and rural revitalization, and selects the fixed effect model and intermediary effect model to test the mechanism effect of digital rural construction on rural revitalization. Research has found that digital rural construction has a significant promoting effect on rural revitalization and can indirectly promote rural revitalization by stimulating rural innovation and entrepreneurship vitality. The construction of digital rural areas has a significant promoting effect on rural revitalization in the eastern region, while it is not obvious in the central and western regions. The digitalization of agriculture in the construction of digital rural areas has a significant promoting effect on rural revitalization, but the role of rural digital infrastructure and digitalization of farmers' lives is not obvious. Based on this, it is proposed to strengthen the construction of digital rural infrastructure, stimulate the innovation vitality of the digital rural industry, strengthen the supply of diversified elements in digital rural areas, coordinate the digital development of various regions, and accelerate the construction of the entire agricultural digital industry chain.
